Junior Consultant – Meat, Dairy, Bakery and Ingredients markets

Gira is hiring a Junior Consultant for the Meat, Dairy, Bakery and Ingredients markets. The role is based in our head office in Ferney-Voltaire.

Senior Consultant – Dairy Ingredients and Alternatives

Gira is hiring a Senior Consultant for the Dairy Ingredients and Alternatives markets, based in our head-office in Ferney-Voltaire or the Rennes area.

Consultant Chinese Market – fluent in Chinese and English

The succesful applicant will participate in research and consultancy projects for the Chinese dairy market as well as in a wide variety of international food research and consultancy projects (dairy, meat, bakery…), related to China or other markets.

You will learn a variety of skills under the supervision of and with direction from experienced specialist market and studies experts. But you will very rapidly be expected to show your own analytical qualities and your abilities as a self-starter. The role will evolve towards more responsibility and client contact as your skills develop.

You should have a Master’s degree in Economics or Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, and ideally have a good understanding of the dairy sector.  A good understanding of basic economic theory is also required as well as expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint and internet research tools, fluent written and spoken English and Chinese.  Very good communication and analytical skills are necessary to succeed in this role.

The position is based in Ferney-Voltaire, France – just 5 minutes from Geneva airport and 15 minutes from downtown. You must be willing to relocate there and also be able to travel to China (several times a year depending on the needs of research projects).

Freelance researchers and consultants (ref G20-FRC/EN+)

We are always interested in hearing from qualified freelance researchers and consultants with good interviewing and report-writing skills preferably with experience in the food and drink markets of one or more of the major EU countries and who speak the language of that country really fluently.
We offer considerable flexibility to freelancers who work with us, together with real back-up and support from our heads-of-project, and the possibility of working from home.

Internships/Stages for final year students (ref G-INTERN)

Gira is interested in receiving applications for internships from outgoing, conscientious final-year masters students preferably with some knowledge of the food industry and with excellent numerical and writing skills. Complete fluency in English is necessary and at least one other European language, other than French, would be of interest (fluent Spanish and/or Italian would be an advantage).

As an intern with Gira, you will learn both market research and analytical skills and you will obtain a good understanding of how key parts of the global food chain work. There is the possibility of an offer of full-time employment following the internship for the right candidate. The place of work will be Ferney-Voltaire.
