Gira attends Bord Bia VIP lunch in Berlin

Irish President Michael D Higgins and his wife began their State visit to Germany in Berlin today. In addition to meetings with political leaders, President Higgins is expected to participate in a number of events hosted by Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia and Tourism Ireland.

Muriel Régnier, Foodservice Director at Gira Food, was honoured to attend Bord Bia’s VIP lunch showcasing Irish agri-food sales to Germany in the Rutz Restaurant, prepared by 2 Michelin star chef Marco Müller.  Some of the high-end Irish produce served at this lunch were Irish mussels, Irish entrecote, Irish beef rib and Irish stout ice-cream.  Régnier had the opportunity to discuss recent Gira Food and Bord Bia projects with Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney and other guests at the lunch reception.

Gira Food is currently accompanying Irish producers with the promotion of their products in Germany, particularly in the foodservice market, with the principle focus being on Origin Green, Ireland’s food and drink sustainability programme developed by Bord Bia.
